On Women’s Day, PRAHA Foundation took a significant step towards promoting women’s health and hygiene by organizing a pad distribution drive for underprivileged women. Understanding the challenges many women face due to limited access to menstrual hygiene products, our initiative aimed to provide essential sanitary pads while also raising awareness about menstrual health.
Menstruation is a natural biological process, yet it remains surrounded by myths, stigma, and misinformation, especially in underserved communities. Many women and young girls lack proper menstrual education, leading to health issues, social restrictions, and loss of confidence.
This initiative wasn’t just about distributing pads—it was about empowering women with knowledge, breaking societal taboos, and encouraging open conversations about menstrual health and hygiene.
With the support of our dedicated volunteers, we reached hundreds of women and adolescent girls in slum areas and rural communities. Each woman received a hygiene kit containing sanitary pads and educational material on menstrual health.
We also organized interactive sessions where women could:
The smiles and gratitude we received reaffirmed our belief that small actions can create a big impact. Many women expressed how this initiative made them feel seen, supported, and empowered, restoring their dignity and confidence.
At PRAHA Foundation, we firmly believe that menstrual hygiene is a basic right, not a privilege. This Women’s Day initiative was just a stepping stone in our ongoing mission to support women and promote health awareness.
We are committed to ensuring that no woman suffers due to the lack of essential hygiene products.
